The MSBA Advocacy Tour — Where Your School Board Needs and Ideas Begin to Build the MSBA Legislative Agenda for the 2023 Legislative Session
Join us for an hour at one of the upcoming Advocacy Tour Zoom meetings (see schedule below) and make a difference as we begin to build the MSBA legislative agenda. The 2023 legislative session is right around the corner. The 2023 session will be a budget-setting year, impacting the next two years of your local district budget.
We have identified the top priorities that were left on the cutting room floor of last year’s Legislature — the special education cross-subsidy and the English Learners cross-subsidy. The cross-subsidies are growing. Mental health resources are needed. We need to work together to build a better future for our public schools.
We hope you will share how these issues — and others — are impacting your district. What ideas do you have that can start a discussion or begin working toward a solution?
Submit a Resolution
MSBA members are encouraged to propose resolutions to the Delegate Assembly for the upcoming legislative session. Your resolutions are the first step to developing the MSBA’s official positions on important educational issues.
Each resolution is researched, vetted and voted on by the membership at the Delegate Assembly. Once adopted, these policies guide the MSBA Government Relations team as they represent you at the Legislature. Resolutions should cover any education topic of significant statewide concern and address desired legislative outcomes. Resolutions are not legislation.
Send your resolutions form(s) to email@example.com by noon Friday, September 30.
All 2022 Advocacy Tour meetings will be held virtually. Members, check your email inbox for Zoom meeting information (or send a request to Bruce Lombard).
