“Meeting Needs of Students” webinar slated for Tuesday, October 5

The U.S. Department of Education – in partnership with the American School Counselor Association, the National Association of School Nurses, the National Association of School Psychologists, and the School Social Work Association of America – is hosting a “Meeting the ‘Here and Now’ Needs of Students Using American Rescue Plan (ARP) Funds” webinar on Tuesday, October 5, from noon to 1 p.m. CDT.

The forum will discuss:

  • How to effectively support the comprehensive needs of our students (and educators) through a comprehensive integrated approach to holistically address the physical and mental health needs of our students through prevention and early intervention efforts.
  • Strategies for using school social workers, school counselors, school psychologists, school nurses in critical leadership roles related to school safety, positive school climate, and providing school-based physical and mental health services.
  • Using American Rescue Plan (ARP) ESSER funding to hire new school counselors, nurses, and mental health and social professionals.
