Call to Action: Call on the FCC to increase funding for the E-rate program

On July 11, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) took a critical first step toward providing at least 99 percent of students with access to high-speed Internet in their schools and libraries within the next five years when it voted to modernize the federal E-rate program. Thanks to the FCC’s action, at least $2 billion will be utilized over the next two years to connect 10 million students to Wi-Fi.

Now the FCC needs to take the next step. The FCC is requesting comments from the public on whether or not to permanently increase funding for high-speed Internet access in schools and libraries.
