Applications open for Teacher and School Leader Incentive Program

Applications open for Teacher and School Leader Incentive Program

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Elementary & Secondary Education recently announced it is accepting Notice Inviting Applications (NIA) for the Teacher and School Leader Incentive Program through June 28, 2023.

The Department of Education plans to award approximately $95 million to eligible applicants to develop, implement, improve, or expand comprehensive performance-based compensation systems (PBCS) or human capital management systems (HCMS) for teachers, principals, or other school leaders (especially for  teachers, principals, or other school leaders in high-need schools who raise student growth and academic achievement and close the achievement gap between high- and low-performing students).

Visit the Office of Elementary & Secondary Education website for detailed information.

If you plan to apply, the Office of U.S. Senator Tina Smith is providing a grant letter of support request form, if you opt to include a letter of support from them. Senator Smith’s office can submit their letters of support directly to the Department of Education – so you don’t need to wait for their letter to submit your application materials.

If you have any questions about Senator Smith’s support letter, please contact Amy Johnson Korba (the Managing Outreach Director for Senator Smith) at amy@smith.senate.gov.
